97 teenagers participated in trainings held in Vani, Tsalenjikha, Tkibuli, Senaki and Kobuleti. Some meetings were held in a traditional, live form. The other part took place in the Internet space. Despite the form, all meetings were equally interesting, active and informative.

Early marriage and ways to resolve conflicts - the students discussed these issues with the trainers. They gave relevant examples, argued about the negative outcomes of early marriages, or the importance of early conflict resolution.

Meetings of such kind give teenagers the opportunity to think freely. They learn to express their opinions, listen actively, ask and answer questions...

The culture of group work, discussion and conversation - all these skills that young people have acquired or reinforced - are the merit of the training course.

What kind of information do we give teenagers? What is their vision? What can help to raise their consciousness?

Formation of correct thinking is facilitated by the Youth Empowerment Centers, which operate in ten municipalities of Western Georgia.

Training courses began from the first days of July and the first five trainings were held in Samtredia, Bagdati, Zugdidi, Chokhatauri and Terjola.

During the meetings, the problem of early marriage and ways to resolve conflicts was discussed.

All five trainings were different, with participation of 97 teenagers: active discussions, discussion of interesting cases, frank feedback.

The Women Fund “Sukhumi” is trying to give young people the opportunity to think in accordance with time, combined with values, for the benefit of the future.

“Every new month brings new opportunities for growth in terms of civic education. I am glad to meet you as we talk about topics that are the biggest challenge for our generation.”

“The pandemic has brought isolation, alienation… And these trainings provide an opportunity for frank conversation, exchange of opinions and definition of personal role.”

These are the words of training participants.

The Women Fund “Sukhumi” held the last June trainings at the Youth Empowerment Centers of Senaki, Samtredia and Kobuleti municipalities.

Thus, an active training course on the topics of conflict escalation and gender equality came to an end.

June was dedicated to conflict escalation and gender equality at the Youth Empowerment Centers. These are the important issues on the agenda of young people.

The training course was held in Terjola, Chokhatauri, Tkibuli.

Live examples, role-games, animated films are the best methods of successful work with youth for awareness raising and development of their skills.

Teenagers, together with the trainers of the Women Fund "Sukhumi", discuss topical issues and plan initiated events in order to exchange useful information with others and include them in the conflict prevention process.

In June, traditionally, trainings will be held in the Youth mpowerment Centers of 10 municipalities. This time we will speak about four meetings: work with the youth of Tsalenjikha, Vani and Bagdati municipalities took place online and the training in Zugdidi was live, active, full of exercises.

72 participants of the four meetings were actively involved in the discussion of topical issues - conflict escalation and gender-based violence. For majority of them, "escalation" was an unfamiliar word, but they remembered it at once.

Girls and boys discussed, argued, expressed their opinions. After the trainings, they began to conduct the so-called initiated events - in this way they demonstrate their knowledge and skills to their peers and this is the best result of working with young people.

The last month of spring in the Youth Empowerment Centers ended with the meetings held in Chokhatauri, Tkibuli and Kobuleti municipalities.

All meetings were interesting, the participants were actively discussing the topic of conflicts and violence. However, the live training held in Kobuleti was special with creative activities.

According to the participants, the trainings are a good opportunity for teenagers to be informed about life issues.

As always, in May trainings were also held with youth groups set up in 10 municipalities. The total number of participants was 207. All of them were actively involved in discussing current issues, debates, group work or role games. Some of the participants will conduct an interesting so-called initiated measures themselves. This is a serious result of working with young people.

We call these activities initiated - all this is carried out after the trainings. That is, young people try to share their knowledge with others and hold interesting events.

The work is carried out in 10 municipalities where Youth Empowerment Centers have been established.

Topics of activities: conflict management and violence prevention.

The activities are diverse: an information meeting, a film screening, a discussion club, an action, etc. Teenagers also held peacekeeping actions-appeals regarding the Ukrainian tragedy. Teachers and school directors are actively involved in the events. They believe that the Women Fund "Sukhumi" contributes to the non-formal education of students.

“Non-formal education is a new window for me to well see the issues that my generation faces as challenges”.

"It is important to discuss the issues that have become the “Achilles' heel” of the 21st century - conflict and violence".

“It's interesting to listen to each other's opinions. Sometimes in the process of discussion, we rethink the issues, we see a better way out of the situation”.

This is what the young participants say during or at the end of the trainings.

Another 4 meetings were held in May at the Youth Empowerment Centers – this time in Bagdati, Chokhatauri, Terjola, Tsalenjikha municipalities. 80 participants were included in the trainings. The training process for them is interesting and exciting. Young people share their knowledge with others so that as many people as possible are informed.
