“Prehistory of Georgian-Abkhazian conflict, its subsequent development and consequences” – this topic was discussed at online trainings conducted with the Youth Initiative Groups of Senaki, Tskaltubo and Koki (Zugdidi municipality).

Participants learned what was the prehistory of conflict and how the events were developed. They asked questions: why it was impossible to manage the situation, who was guilty, why did they come to such consequences.

Trainer Keti Vasadze explained to the participants how important the confidence raising is in peacebuilding, what steps should be taken in this direction.

At the end of the trainings, the participants expressed their mood and attitude towards discussed issues:

“Prehistory of Georgian-Abkhazian conflict, its continuation and consequences” - this topic was discussed at online trainings with youth initiative groups of Tskaltubo and Tsalenjikha (school No. 1 - village Liya) municipalities. The trainings were held separately for both groups with participation of 40 pupils.

The young people expressed interest regarding the topic in this way. They expressed their desire - to have more communication with their Abkhazian peers. The project will give them with this opportunity.

The training on elaboration of grant applications and projects was held in Batumi for the representatives of civil society organizations from eight municipalities.

The second grant competition is currently underway according to the project. The training was devoted to the consideration and adjustment of projects that will be submitted to the competition. The work was quite fruitful, as together with the theoretical part, the training format also envisaged the active involvement of the participants. All organizations were able to correct and improve their project applications.

After online activities during pandemic, the representatives of civil society organizations from 8 municipalities gathered in Kutaisi. The training was devoted to the issues of lobbying. Actual cases were discussed along with other important issues. The interactive work was conducted by the trainer Elisabed Sopromadze and according to the participants, it was useful and productive day for them.

The organizer of the training is Imereti Scientists’ Union "Spectri". The work is carried out in the framework of the project “A common forum for CSOs from Guria, Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi for PAR Roadmap monitoring”.

First activity of the project “Bridging the Gap: People to People Initiatives for Conflict Resolution” was held in Sairme on March 27-28. These were two trainings, which were carried out for two groups on one important topic "Gender Responsive Early Warning System (GREWS)". Members of women and youth initiative groups created within the project from Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Zugdidi and Tsalenjikha municipalities participated in the trainings. Using the information obtained during two days, the members of the initiative group will be involved in the process of research, which is planned in the target municipalities.

The youth spirit was felt that day in the office of the Fund "Sukhumi". Students of the upper-grades from Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Tsalenjikha municipalities took part in the training “Conflict Management, Positive Communication, Tolerance, Empathy, Leadership, Civil Activism”.

Young people liked the comfortable atmosphere, topics, relationships between the participants, they boldly played roles during various activities.

At the end of the training, the participants shared their impressions. Here are some short phrases from their remarks:

Elene Shengelia (school of the village Koki, Zugdidi municipality): - The training strengthened the roots of non-formal education in me ... My knowledge and the knowledge gained during the training supplemented each other and created a strong chain.

Searching for the funds, registtarion of civic organizations, self-presentation, presentation of results - all these questions were necessary, interesting and useful. Therefore, the mobilizers of the Women Support Centers were actively involved participated in the process of two-day online training.

The participants got acquainted with the procedure of registering the organization, with the necessary documents. Particularly interesting was the part of the training, which was devoted to the skills of self-presentation, presenting the results of activities and formulating these results in a success story.

Fifteen new organizations have been added to civil society in 8 municipalities. It is one of the most important results of our project. After the registration, necessary training is provided to them.

The representatives of these organizations have attended the training on the topic "Development of projects and grant applications" and got acquainted with the process and stages of drafting project grant applications. Despite the online format, the training has been conducted with the active involvement of the participants. The discussed theoretical issues and specific examples will help them develop a project idea according to the application form.

On February 18-19, a two-day training was held with representatives of local self-governments of Imereti, Samegrelo, Guria and Adjara. The issue of the strategy of gender equality, organizational, technical and methodological aspects of the municipality was discussed on the first day. The second day was devoted to the development of municipality action plans.

The training participants had interesting presentations on the approaches existing in the municipalities, successful practices and challenges.
