“Needs and priorities of IDP and conflict affected women living in Zugdidi municipality and the importance of their integration into local policy” - this is the title of a new Fund “Sukhumi’s” publication. Main conclusions, findings and recommendations identified as a result of the study will be submitted to local political parties. This will facilitate a full-fledged pre-election communication between women and local political actors and strengthen an appropriate feedback of political parties on the needs of their voters.

Civil Society Organization “Imedi” is one of the partners of the project. The organization held an online information meeting with members of the women peacekeeping club.

The participants got acquainted with a social video prepared by the Fund "Sukhumi" for filling in the online platform "Voters’ Advice Application". They also received information about the project and the issues that will be posted on the platform.

According to the participants, the project is very interesting. The voter receives alternative information, different from television, which will help to make the right decision during the elections.

Ingiri, Shamgona, Kakhati - residents of different ages living in these villages, IDPs and local citizens, were familiarized with the essence of the online application and with the rules for using it by the project facilitators. The participants of the meeting not only listened to the information about the online-vote-o-meter with interest, but also held a discussion on the topic of elections and socio-political life in general. They focused on the issues, on which, according to them, the political actors, participating in the elections, should sharpen their attention - uncontrolled migration, the integration of IDPs, local employment programs and other issues.

In accordance with the recommendations of health care, the meeting with the part of the youth in Zugdidi was held offline and with the other part – online. The meeting concerned the online "vote-vote-o-meter" – voters’ advice application, implementation of the application, pre-election informing of the voter.

The participants expressed the desire to use the application after its activation. It was said that they never have full information about the programs of political parties, so such an application is very interesting for them.

Koki, Orsantia, Zugdidi - informational meetings are actively held in these villages of Zugdidi municipality. Voters get acquainted with the online-vote-o-meter, with its essence and meaning. Due to the pandemic, meetings were held with small groups or individually. Citizens are expressing great interest in this innovative platform.

A cycle of informational meetings continues in Zugdidi municipality, in order to get acquainted with the online application. Despite the limitations, the facilitators arrange individual meetings and try to deliver information to the vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, and families with many children as much as possible.

The beneficiaries like this innovation very much and are going to use the platform to get information about the programs of political actors.

Through the Zoom program, the youth living in Zugdidi municipality got acquainted with the "Voters Advice Application". A video instruction was used, which introduces the details of using the online application.

Young people noted that they will follow the update of the application and will definitely use it. At the same time, they will share the information received with friends, relatives, and help older family members to use the application.

From July 10 to July 20 - Khurcha, Koki, Shamgona, Ingiri (Zugdidi Municipality) - these villages were covered by meetings for the introduction of the Voters’ Advice Application, which were held by members of the Fund “Sukhumi” Women Initiative Group.

The meetings were attended by citizens of different age categories in small groups. They expressed interest towards the novation envisaged by the project, established active feedback and highlighted the issues that are interesting for political parties. Migration was named as one of the most acute problems.

A member of the Women Peace Coalition – organization “Imedi”, held four meetings in Zugdidi Municipality - mainly in compact settlements for IDPs to inform the voters. The meetings covered the villages of Zugdidi Municipality: Kakhati, Anaklia, Ingiri. The moderators talked about the positive results of using the online application, introduced the instructions for the use of applications and familiarized with the questionnaire developed by the Fund "Sukhumi".

Citizens were interested in the information on the online vote-o-meter. They also presented issues that can be addressed by the municipality. Contact persons have been identified who will meet with citizens again after the launch of the platform.
