Round table in Kutaisi

  

 

In Kutaisi, hotel “Argo” there was held a round table in frames of joint Georgian-Abkhazian project: “Strengthening of women’s voices at the decision-making level”. There was held a conversation regarding the results of conducted research and presented film, held by the fund “Sukhumi”.

The round table was attended by representatives of different social groups – IDPs, youth, also representatives of NGOs and local self-government, members of Gender Advisory Council of Kutaisi and Senaki. The discussion was observed by representatives of EU.

As it was mentioned by the chairperson of the fund “Sukhumi”, “all joint activities started with the word “Hard”, but the only thing, that united us was a will and readiness for sustainable peace.”

According to the roundtable participants, a study has revealed the importance of women's participation in peace processes and problems in this regard. There has been mentioned the contribution of the Fund "Sukhumi", which "does not give anyone a chance to relax and set aside the problem of conflict solution."

Round table for the people with disabilities

  
 
On July 13 in the fund “Sukhumi” a round table was held for the people with disabilities. They met doctors, psychologist, representatives of NGOs, representative from Khoni, who works with such category of people. The round table was attended by the activists of Kutaisi WSC.
An interesting dialogue was held. The beneficiaries received information their rights – especially in the sphere of healthcare and social care, which is too essential for them.  

 

Round Table in Batumi

1How must be the issues of age psychology and physiology, sexual education, which are interesting for the youth and parents, teachers, doctors are trying to "throw" to each other, what is gender education, what defines gender approach to the issue or definitely harmonic relation in large families, fair allocation of eligibilities and roles, what are the risks in existing mistakes of youth education and how must school, family, society collaborate in this direction.
In Batumi Center of Democratic Engagement, representatives of different generations gathered on a round table organized by the fund “Sukhumi” and Batumi GAC to discuss these issues.
The activity was aired by the TV Company “Adjara”.

Round table in Senaki

  
In frames of the project co-financed by the Fund "Sukhumi" and local self-government project “civil education for gender equality and healthy environment in Senaki pre-school unity” Gender Advisory Council of Senaki organized a roundtable on "Gender violence and the impact of a violent environment for the development of the teenager."
The meeting was attended by the governor and his deputy, representatives of the local administration, members of the GAC, the head of the Association of Senaki preschool unity, leaders, teachers of kindergartens, participants of the project, representatives of the media, as well as three representatives of the Association of Kutaisi preschool education.
Analysis of the local situation of gender education, gender violence and statistics was made by the expert Sophio Janashia, inspector-investigator of the district department Senaki. Psycho-social aspects were reviewed by psychologist of Fund "Sukhumi" Tamar Kalandadze.
Presentations of experts were followed by live discussion. Representatives of Senaki preschool unity and Kutaisi exchanged experience and appreciated the GAC project.

Campaign of women solidarity: round table in Khurcha

In Women Support Center of Khurcha (Zugdidi Municipality), the activists conducted round table on: “Women Solidarity – for Better Future”.
Among the guests there were: members of Zugdidi Sakrebulo and Gamgeoba, village attorneys, majoritarian candidate, teachers and observers of the OSCE mission.
During the round table the recommendations were revealed regarding victim protection and violence prevention, among them:
-Informing of the youth on the issues of domestic violence
-More mobilization of law protecting structures and informational work with the society.
-Re-training of village attorneys for reaction on violation facts.
