Meetings - in this category there is an information about meetings in frames of Fund “Sukhumi” projects - meetings with beneficiaries, representatives of state structures, local and international non-governmental organizations.

  
On June 18, an ordinary meeting of Batumi GAC, once again touched the results of conducted research of gender needs and discussed concrete suggestions and recommendations.
The meeting announced the youth project of the GAC “Youth for non-violent society”. In frames of the project first demonstrative performances with participation of 6 schools were shown. The meeting also discussed other ideas, which will be supported by the local self-government.
Participation of the members of Ozurgeti GAC, showed their interesting experience and successful projects. It was mentioned that experience exchange system will promote to more interesting and multilateral work of the GAC.

On June 18, the fund “Sukhumi” organized round table in the Center of Democratic Engagement of Kutaisi. The meeting was attended by the people with disabilities, representatives of the City Hall and Sakrebulo on social and health care issues, also representatives of social agency. They spoke about budget programs, answered the questions of participants.

As the beneficiaries mentioned, they received interesting nd necessary information.  

Mobilizers of Support Centers of Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskhaltubo, Senaki, Poti and Khurcha / Koki (Zugdidi Municipality) conduct monthly meetings in Sakrebulo, to have information about the programs initiated by the local government. These information are presented to beneficiaries during mobilization meeting other events in Women's Support Centre.
Mobilizers regularly meet representatives of local social services and Sakrebulo, give them information about the work of Women's Support Centre of Fund "Sukhumi” (free legal and psychological consultation).
At the June meeting in Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskhaltubo, Senaki, Poti, Zugdidi, the stress was made on local government programs for vulnerable and IDPs.
Similar meetings enhance cooperation of governmental and non-governmental structures.

Representative of the fund “Sukhumi” met the residents of Adlia Street, Batumi (former military settlement) and familiarized with their problems.
One of the residents – Besik Sikharulidze claims that rehabilitation of sewage system,  road surfacing with asphalt, solution drains problem is essential:
 - During the rain here is a little Venice. The yards are flooded, the water often comes in the houses. It is almost impossible to move without rubber footwear. The walls are covered with mold, which causes different diseases.
The local population demands solution of these problems from the side of Batumi Gender Advisory Council and local self-government structures.

Meeting of Ozurgeti GAC discussed organizational issues, changes in the status.The main time was devoted to summarizing the research of local gender needs. The members of the GAC presented brief reports on trends, identified during resarch. Based on the fact that the past research was conducted in Ozurgeti and present - in the villages of the municipality, they were able to make parallels. Emphasis was made on the low level of awareness on budget issues.
At a future meeting recommendations will developed for submission to the local government.

On ordinary meeting of Kutaisi GAC, the members presented reports of the research. They discussed the results and mentioned that for revealing local gender needs interesting material is collected. The parallels were made with the research of the previous year.
It was noted: informing of society regarding local budget is still a problem.
It was planned: to review recommendations in the next year, which will be elaborated as a result of research analysis.
The meeting was continued by the second issue. The GAC members heard information regarding a project “Olympiad gives equal possibilities”. The project is implemented by co-financing of the GAC and the City hall and aims to raise awareness of the society for establishment of gender components on sport area.

Ordinary meeting of Senaki GAC was devoted to the evaluation results of gender needs, which was held by the members of the GAC in May. With what target groups was the research conducted, what gender needs were identified, what conclusions and recommendations may be made according the answers of the respondents – the GAC members presented short reports of conducted research.
The GAC members mentioned that the participants were very satisfied by the meeting format as they had opportunity to express their opinion and discuss problematic issues. Respondents express a will to held similar meetings more often.
It was decided that the following meeting will be devoted to elaboration of recommendations for local 2016 budget.
The meeting also discussed preparation work for the forum – presentation of the results in frames of the project “Civil education for establishing gender equality and healthy environment in pre-school educational premises of Senaki Municipality”.

On June 2, in Zugdidi a festival was opened devoted to the day of America. The event presented projects, which are implemented with support of USA State Department.
Among numerous activities, there was a show of dance group “Sea2Sea” organized by the fund “Sukhumi”.
The presentation was attended by Prime Minister of Georgia – Irakli Garibashvili, representatives of central and local government, ambassador of the USA in Georgia and representatives of civil society.
At the end there was a concert from USA “Danger Flow” accompanied by the dancers of Sea2Sea.
Analogical events will be held in Akhaltsikhe (June 3), Gori (June 4), Tbilisi (June 6).
 
 
In May 1-20 Batumi GAC with support of the Fund "Sukhumi" conducted a research the aim of which was - identifying gender needs of different social groups in order to give the GAC possibility to prepare proposals and recommendations for consideration in future budget 2016. 200 respondents were Interviewed, 5 focus groups were held, which covered: large families and single mothers, women - socially vulnerable and IDPs, youth and small entrepreneurs, ethnic minorities. 8 in-depth interviews were held with industry experts.
The information makes it possible to identify areas where it is more efficient to direct local resources for support of groups with special needs.

On the international day of children, under organization of the fund “Sukhumi a group of modern dances „Sea2Sea“ and representatives of the fund visited the day center in Kutaisi “Bridge for Social Inclusion”.
The dancers represented a small show of modern dances, conducted master-calsses for them and thus congratulated the celebration.
