The ordinary information meeting was held with the members of the women initiative group of the village Pakhulani of Tsalenjikha Municipality and the villages DidiNedzi and Koki of Zugdidi Municipality.

The meetings were dedicated to the evaluation of the technical side of the research of the project "Barriers and Opportunities for Women's Participation in Socio-Political Life and Economic Activities".

Participants talked about how they planned the research process, what hindering and contributing factors they observed in the work process. Each speaker spoke using their own examples.

They shared the difficulties of working with groups.

They talked about how they were able to record the interview, talking face to face with the respondents.

Participants received advice on the basic principles of facilitation.

The future plans were also discussed with the group members.

Members of Senaki Women Initiative Group talked about the progress of their research at a meeting in February. The analysis of the obtained materials reveals the barriers that hinder the involvement of women in socio-political and economic activities. The participants positively evaluated the experience gained in the process of collecting information. According to them, the skills acquired during the training significantly increased their competence. They noted that properly selected respondents and facilitation skills helped them to obtain the necessary information for the research.

On February 7, an information meeting was held with the members of Kutaisi Youth Club. Young people were informed about the results of gender inequality: Violence, disagreement, disagreement, fear (mainly when a woman is a violence victim), social problems, as well as a person may have a complex of inferiority.

The participants openly expressed their views:

- "The meeting was interesting with explanation of the issues of gender and gender equality";

- "Women and men are equal in all issues".

Members of the women initiative group living in a military settlement of Khoni Municipality have successfully completed the process of in-depth interview.

The achievements, challenges and difficulties were discussed at the informational meeting on February 4.

The interviewees mentioned that they had very interesting respondents and shared their emotions with others.

There are 2 women initiative groups in Khoni municipality.

The focus group process was successful and this was discussed by the members of the Khoni group.

The interviewees noted that the respondents were not only able to express their opinion, but also expressed a desire to join the initiative group.

Also it should be mentioned that the members of Khoni initiative group managed to break the stereotypes of the population and through their activities they were able to change their views on the role of women in the economics and politics.

Active working period of initiative groups

Women initiative groups have an active working period in Koki and Didi Nedzi (Zugdidi Municipality). The members of the group are involved in the research: focus groups and in-depth interviews. The aim of the research is to identify the barriers that hinder the involvement of women in socio-political and economic activities.

Koki Youth Initiative Group has a different agenda. At the ordinary meeting, the lawyer of the Fund "Sukhumi" discussed the topic of "early marriage". Underage marriage is still a problem in Georgia. Besides the fact that early marriage is a human rights violation, it is accompanied by negative consequences for physical and mental health.

The feedback from the group members at the end of the meeting was following:

- The meeting was informative, interesting and important.

- I learned about the risks and methods of punishment after the early marriage.

- It is necessary to hold similar meetings with adults.

Khoni Initiative Groups

Khoni Women Initiative Groups are involved in the research process. The first results will appear soon. At the next meetings, the group members discussed the techniques and deadlines for conducting focus groups and in-depth interviews, and identified the categories of respondents. The experience of the group members is a contributing factor to the successful completion of the task.

An information meeting was also held with the members of the youth group. The project lawyer spoke about childrens’ rights and early marriage.

Participants learned about the legal and health risks associated with early marriage.

The meeting turned out to be very interesting and interactive for the young people. They also asked interesting questions and received comprehensive answers.

There are two Women Initiative Groups in Khoni municipality. Online meetings were held with them, where technical side of the survey, deadlines and identification of beneficiaries was held. Group members have similar experiences that will contribute to a successful survey.

An information meeting with the members of the youth group was also held online. They talked about the 16-day international campaign, the activities carried out within the campaign and the practices adopted.

In the beginning of December, members of the group were also trained in the topics of peace and confidence building. Despite the online format, the training was interactive - participants shared their experiences and learned a lot of news.

Online meetings of Kutaisi initiative groups

Members of Kutaisi Women Initiative Group actively participated in the online meeting. Before starting the research, they received consulted and identified the target beneficiaries. Specific performers were distributed and research deadlines were set. The survey includes 150 people.

A youth group meeting was also held online. The members of the group talked about the events initiated within the framework of the 16-day international campaign. They condemn violence and according to them, active information work helps to raise awareness.
