The Fund "Sukhumi" presents a new publication, “The Gender Dimension of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Its Impact on Human Security”, outlining the key challenges and problems faced by our beneficiaries, especially women and girls.

The rapid assessment aimed at exploring and studying the main problems and gender needs caused by the COVID-19 in the lives of the organization's beneficiaries and developing an appropriate and timely response strategy.

The rapid assessment analysis is published in two languages - Georgian and English.

The analysis, prepared by the monitoring group of the Fund “Sukhumi” was completed. This is a new edition and its name is, “Monitoring of Services for the Victims - Support Services for Victims of Domestic Violence and Existing Challenges”.

The edition will be sent to all recipients who are obligated and able to - provide victims of domestic violence with more flexible, practical and effective services, as well as make the lives of women victims and their children safe.

Andy Dzidzava is an actor at the Lado Meskhishvili Drama Theater in Kutaisi. “No Violence!”- Says the famous Georgian actor in this video.

Mariam Robakidze is an actress of the Forum Theater of the Fund "Sukhumi" and in the video, she tells the story of a woman victim of psychological abuse. The actress reads the monologue with emotion, though she has repeatedly played the role of a female victim on stage and has heard a similar story many times.

Fund "Sukhumi" actively works in the field of violence prevention and assistance to victims. The monologue of a woman victim of violence is real. New online edition

“The results of monitoring carried out in frames of “Gender Responsive Early Warning System”- a collection of reports” - is the new online publication of the organization.

The collection includes three reports:

Extraordinary report of the Fund "Sukhumi" regarding the closure of the checkpoint on Enguri, by the decision of the government of Sukhumi - based on the collection of information by the organization’s monitors on June 28-30.

A report reflecting the mood of the Georgian population and the situation during the election process in Abkhazia - based on data collection in June-August 2019;

Report reflecting the attitude of IDPs and the conflict-affected population on issues of violence against women/domestic violence - based on data collection in October-November 2019.

The Fund “Sukhumi” has prepared a collection of analytical articles entitled “Experience of Visegrad countries and Georgia on the development of the electoral system and enhancing participation of citizens in the elections”. It reflects the political documents of Czech, Polish, Slovak and Georgian experts - the experience of these four countries in formation and development of electoral system, participation of citizens in the process. The collection was prepared in the framework of the project "Online Voting-O-Meter for the Parliamentary Elections of 2020".

A new publication has appeared in the Fund “Sukhumi” - “The role and practice of local governments in fighting against domestic violence”. It covers the active cooperation of the Fund “Sukhumi” with local governments in fighting against violence towards the women in the family, in direction of improving the institutional capacities of the municipality, to raise awareness and realize its own role in the fight against violence.

The publication was published Georgian and English and distributed in the local governments with which the Fund cooperates.

Legal Service of the Fund “Sukhumi” published a brochure “STOP Violence!!!”

It presents frequently asked questions on the problem of violence against women / domestic violence, and gives answers / clarifications: what is domestic violence, what are the forms of violence, who is a victim, a rapist, etc.

The brochure shows the phone numbers of the mobilizers of 10 Women Support Centers of the Fund “Sukhumi”, as well as contact details by which the victim can call for help in case of violence.

Part of publications will be handed out during the campaign of 16 Active Days Against Gender-Based Violence.
