Reports of the research of GAC meeting in Senaki

  
 
Ordinary meeting of Senaki GAC was devoted to the evaluation results of gender needs, which was held by the members of the GAC in May. With what target groups was the research conducted, what gender needs were identified, what conclusions and recommendations may be made according the answers of the respondents – the GAC members presented short reports of conducted research.
The GAC members mentioned that the participants were very satisfied by the meeting format as they had opportunity to express their opinion and discuss problematic issues. Respondents express a will to held similar meetings more often.
It was decided that the following meeting will be devoted to elaboration of recommendations for local 2016 budget.
The meeting also discussed preparation work for the forum – presentation of the results in frames of the project “Civil education for establishing gender equality and healthy environment in pre-school educational premises of Senaki Municipality”.

Fund “Sukhumi” opening of festival in Zugdidi

  
 
On June 2, in Zugdidi a festival was opened devoted to the day of America. The event presented projects, which are implemented with support of USA State Department.
Among numerous activities, there was a show of dance group “Sea2Sea” organized by the fund “Sukhumi”.
The presentation was attended by Prime Minister of Georgia – Irakli Garibashvili, representatives of central and local government, ambassador of the USA in Georgia and representatives of civil society.
At the end there was a concert from USA “Danger Flow” accompanied by the dancers of Sea2Sea.
Analogical events will be held in Akhaltsikhe (June 3), Gori (June 4), Tbilisi (June 6).
 
 

„Sea2Sea“ – Kutaisi Day Center

On the international day of children, under organization of the fund “Sukhumi a group of modern dances „Sea2Sea“ and representatives of the fund visited the day center in Kutaisi “Bridge for Social Inclusion”.
The dancers represented a small show of modern dances, conducted master-calsses for them and thus congratulated the celebration.
 
 

Batumi Gender Advisory council finished research of gender needs of local civil groups

In May 1-20 Batumi GAC with support of the Fund "Sukhumi" conducted a research the aim of which was - identifying gender needs of different social groups in order to give the GAC possibility to prepare proposals and recommendations for consideration in future budget 2016. 200 respondents were Interviewed, 5 focus groups were held, which covered: large families and single mothers, women - socially vulnerable and IDPs, youth and small entrepreneurs, ethnic minorities. 8 in-depth interviews were held with industry experts.
The information makes it possible to identify areas where it is more efficient to direct local resources for support of groups with special needs.

Meeting of Kutaisi Sakrebulo

Om May 27 meeting of Kutaisi Sakrebulo was attended by representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” together with the people with disabilities.
The aim of the project, in which they are involved, is their informing regarding the processed in the city and their integration in the society.
Nato Kupatadze is a person with disability. She mentioned that attended the meeting for the first time and discussed issues were too interesting for her.
