Training for the staff of the MIA

 

  

In the office of Fund "Sukhumi", on April 28, there was held a training organized by the Anti-Violence Network of Georgia for the staff of Imereti region of the MIA of Georgia. The topic of training was "Domestic violence and the mechanisms against it according the Georgian legislation". Fund "Sukhumi", as the representative of Imereti Regional Committee, of the network for the protection from domestic violence, was actively involved in organization of training.

16 trainings supported by local government of the Senaki

         

The Fund "Sukhumi" has been actively cooperating with local self-government of the Senaki Municipality for more than 10 years. As a result of this cooperation, two years ago the Youth department was renamed the Youth and Gender department. At the initiative of this department, with the support of local self-government, fund “Sukhumi” trainers periodically conduct trainings on gender issues.

In March-April in Senaki, in this small city of Western Georgia one more cycle was conducted of 16 trainings on gender and gender violence. The participants of the trainings were 320 people-employees of kindergartens and cultural institutions, representatives of local authorities and youth. The trainings showed the effectiveness of work in this direction and the impact on the destruction of gender stereotypes.

Monitoring of self-government budget – training in Tskaltubo

   

 

On February 8-10 in Tskaltubo there was held a training on: “Monitoring of self-government budget”. It was attended by target organizations, representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” among them. The gained knowledge will be used during the monitoring of social part of municipal budget and while preparing relevant recommendations. The project is implemented by Czech organization “People in Need” and Center of Strategic Research and development of Georgia.

For the first time in the history of fund “Sukhumi” unusually crowded meeting in Borjomi

 

 

During several days, there were held working meetings, a round table with men, children and adolescents, together with the staff of the fund “Sukhumi” in Borjomi, there were recorded their proposals for the inclusion of new components in the subsequent work. Such an unusual meeting was organized for the first time.

With merry event was celebrated mother's day - the children and mothers participated in contests and games, sang, danced ...

And most important, for the staff of the Foundation, a training - workshop was held on institutional development. They discussed the goals and indicators of the new project, the weaknesses of the organization and ways to overcome them, worked on strategies for fundraising and security.

A lot of flipcharts, a lot of working material, recommendations, initiatives and plans brought the Fund "Sukhumi" from Borjomi - so fruitfully were ended those 3 days.

Training in fundraising strategy

     

On January 16-17 in the fund “Sukhumi” there was held a training on: “Development of strategy in fundraising”. It was attended by the group of fundraising and mobilizers of all 6 WSCs.

During the training there were made stresses on following topics: how to attract resources for project implementation, planning of searching the donors, main steps of the searching grants, SWOT analysis and so on.

The mobilizers were actively involved in the work. They have a practice of independent implementation of the projects and for the given moment for them it is necessary to find donor organizations, funds. The training gave them these skills and experience.
