Information on referral subjects - workshops with women

The participants of the workshop spoke about the campaign "16 active days against gender-based violence" and its meaning.

How to help the victim of violence, who enters into referral subjects, how the law determines their authority - these issues were discussed with the women  participants of the workshops. In their opinion, a person should feel responsible and timely intervene in family conflicts, since the likelihood of becoming a victim of violence for woman is high.

During the discussion, when talking about referral subjects, a special emphasis was put on the responsibility of the school. As it was mentioned, the school is one of the serious links that should actively join in the prevention of violence.

Workshops were held in the Women Support Centers of Kutaisi, Senaki, Tskaltubo.

Workshops with young people

How to manage conflicts, how to avoid aggression - young people - participants of the workshops, held in Khoni, Poti and Koki (Zugdidi municipality), made these accents. They believe that in schools in the case of violence they try not to bear responsibility, since they often do not know what to do to prevent violence.

Who should work for the prevention of violence, who are the subjects of the referral mechanism - young people listened with interest to information on this topic. In their opinion, society must understand that ignoring the problem is not an option. On the contrary, it is necessary to speak more about the scale of violence, so that everyone understands its negative consequences.

The Women's Support Center of Khoni tries to improve the culture of hygiene in the villages

Khoni Women's Support Center carried out an interesting mini-project in the villages: Gocha Jikhaishi, Didi Kukhi and Nakhakhulevi. The project "Sanitary and hygienic culture - the guarantee of a harmonious family" was dedicated to the International campaign "16 active days against gender-based violence". Within the framework of the project, information leaflets were printed and information meetings with the doctor were held. Only women (from 25 years old) were present at the meetings, since the conversation concerned not only sanitary and hygienic norms and seasonal problems (common cold, flu). The accent was also made on the popularization of screening (uterus and breast) – majority do not know that it can be done free of charge and very near, in Kutaisi.

Rural women do not have the comfort of such meetings and, in their opinion, it was a special project, with interesting topics presented by the doctor.
