Workshops in Women Support Centers: migration of women and domestic conflicts

- There are different opinions on the issue of the migration of women in society. For the sake of the majority, a woman should not leave, she should not leave her children. And they say little about the fact that a woman makes such a choice because of her family and children.

- When there are conflicts in a family, migration is often the best way out. Therefore, it is important that society has the right attitude towards the migration of women. If after the woman leaves the conflict starts, it is not only her fault, but also the other members of the family.

Such considerations were recorded at workshops with women's groups at the Women Support Centers of Poti, Senaki and Kutaisi

Unprecedented action "unikalmedi" and Fund "Sukhumi" in Koki

Up to 200 people gathered on July 16 in the village Koki (Zugdidi Municipality) - not only the population of the village, but also residents of other villages of the municipality - Orsantia, Khurcha, Kakhati. The action was well organized by the Women Support Center of Khurcha / Koki - the mobilizers actively disseminated information about a very useful and necessary activity.

Kutaisi clinic "unikalmedi" conducted free medical consultations / examinations in the villages that are located near Abkhazia in the following areas: radiology, echoscopy, cardiology, neurology, therapy, urology, gastroenterology, surgery and endocrinology.

The action was not completed only by this - doctors of the clinic transported 9 patients on their own transport. Now 16 people are in hospital for treatment. Especially it is necessary to say that part of the sum is provided by the state insurance, and the rest - by the decision of the administration, is covered by the clinic.

For those who did not get a free service on the day of the action, the clinic is ready to provide a 50% discount.

This is really an unprecedented action, arranged by the "unikalmedi" clinic in the framework of the memorandum of cooperation, signed with the Fund "Sukhumi".

The action will continue in Poti, Khoni and Senaki.

Psychological family consultative meeting on the initiative of the Women Support Center of Khoni

At the initiative of the Women Support Center of Khoni this time, a psychological consultation was held with a socially unprotected family in the village of Gocha-Jikhaishi.

There are 8 people in the family, nobody works. Some members of the family are socially not adapted, some have health problems, children have difficulties in the learning process. This family was repeatedly assisted by representatives of local government and fund “Sukhumi”, but one-time assistance does not fully contribute to solving their problems. More support is needed. Those interested can apply to the Fund "Sukhumi" or the Sakrebulo of Khoni municipality.

The topic of the migration of women in the workshop

- I was always against a woman who go abroad. Especially at an age when the children need mothers very much. But when our family faced such problems, I supported my mother, who decided to go to work in Turkey. Now I no longer feel so painful. The main thing is for everyone to feel their responsibility.

- My family lives next door. Mother went to work. The child is brought up by my grandmother. Father began to drink often and there were constant conflicts. The girl did not listen to her grandmother at all. There were finances in the family, but a mess began. Mother was forced to return home.

Against the background of similar stories, workshops were held in Tskaltubo, Khoni and Koki (Zugdidi municipality). Despite disagreement, young people believe that women's migration can help to resolve conflicts if all members of the family feel their personal responsibility.
