An online petition was registered at a meeting of Khoni Women Initiative Group together with group members. The aim of the petition is to promote the introduction of a Homeowners' Association development program into the budget of the local municipality.

In frames of the program, the maintenance of the own and common property of the Homeowners’ Association will be ensured with the participation of the municipality. Through projects and activities implemented on the principle of co-financing, the municipality will help the population to improve the environment they live and at the same time, favorable conditions will be created for the development of civil society.

The ordinary meeting was attended by members of Kutaisi Women Initiative Group, as well as residents of the IDP settlement “cottages”.

According to the agenda, they discussed identified problems related to the arrangement of drainage canals, a sports ground, the problem of the roof in the settlement of Nikea Street, and the necessity to form a “homeowners’ association” in Choma settlement.

The group members decided to find a lobbyist to speed up the problem solution that concern people living in the IDP settlement of Kutaisi municipality.

In September, Members of Tskaltubo Women Initiative Group met again to identify and advocate their problems. During the meeting, successful cases were discussed and it was noted how important the theoretical knowledge acquired during the work is for practical activities.

During the meeting they talked about the main problems of the IDP settlement. New issues were identified: creation of a recreational area in the community, installation of speed bumps for traffic safety. An action plan for timely resolution of problems was outlined. A “one-stop shop” meeting was planned to be held in October for effective advocacy.

An informational meeting was held with members of Zugdidi Women Initiative Group. During the meeting the participants discussed the situation regarding the advocacy of individual problems. The group leader familiarized the participants with the letters that were sent to the City Hall and read announced the received responses. The process is active, but there are issues that require additional effort. The meeting participants also received information about planned activities.

Tskaltubo Women Initiative Group actively holds meetings with representatives of IDP communities in order to advocate issues that are important to them.

For the given moment, the group is working on the problem of stray dogs on Abkhazeti street. On the basis of the response received from the local authorities, they look for the ways to solve the problem.

The initiative group often organizes the cleaning of the territory of the settlement from weeds. In August, sewer wells were also cleaned, the adjacent territory, buildings and basements were also cleaned with special sprays.

Kutaisi Women Initiative Group did not stop the advocacy process even in Summer. the According to the identified problems, letters addressed to the Mayor of Kutaisi and the Chairman of Kutaisi Gender Equality Council were prepared.

At the ordinary meeting in August, the members of the initiative group spoke about the planned activities to be held in September. The group is also actively working to identify problems that the IDP community faces, and these problems outlined in future plans.

Another meeting with members of Zugdidi Women Initiative Group was held online. The participants spoke about the results of their activities. During the meeting, it was noted that the planned preparatory work on advocacy was completed in August. In cooperation with local self-government, advocacy is carried out to solve two problems. Corresponding letters are registered in Zugdidi City Hall. In September, the process of advocacy will be actively continued.

During the meeting with members of Senaki Women Initiative Group, the participants exchanged information about the situation regarding problem advocacy. According to the speakers, they work in frames of the advocacy plan and monitor individual processes.

Along with advocacy, members of the working group actively work to identify new problems that the community faces.

Members of the Women Initiative Group of five target municipalities met with each other online. The participants assessed the dynamics of advocacy, which is carried out within the framework of the project.

The women leaders of the group spoke about the new problems identified in the target municipalities, the current situation, outcomes and challenges in terms of advocacy.

Representatives of the Women Fund "Sukhumi" acquainted the participants with the best practice of the organization: the guide "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs"

They also discussed further plans and issues of the network operation as a mechanism of mutual support.
