Meeting of Ozurgeti Advisory Council

 

Ordinary meeting of Ozurgeti GAC was devoted to preparation for the conference. The conference is planned with the aim to summarize the project and familiarize with the practice of work.

The conference will be attended by the representatives of Guria, other municipalities of Guria, also municipalities of Adjara. The stress will be made on legislative change in the law regarding creation of gender councils in each Sakrebulo, that was the main goal of the project.

Informational meeting in Ozurgeti

  

In the kindergarten No 4 of Ozurgeti there was held informational meeting, which was attended by the members of Sakrebulo Irina Sajaia and Nino Tabatadze. The staff of kindergarten has only one requirement – full rehabilitation of the building, as they work in bad conditions. They also spoke about low salaries and asked to envisage teir work and responsibility.

The members of Sakrebulo promised that they will meet the Mayor of the city and discuss the issue of rehabilitation, and the topic of salaries is still under question.

Preparation to the Conference

 

 

The twenty eighth meeting of the Gender Advisory Council of Senaki was held on July 11. The meeting was dedicated to the preparation of the summarizing conference, where the GAC members plan to share their work experience, achievements and results with the representatives of the other municipalities of the region.

At the Conference there will be invited representatives of the municipalities of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, representatives of the Governor’s Administration of the region, Fund “Sukhumi” and local self-government.

Sport activities of Poti Women support Centers

    

In frames of the project “Prevention of violence through popularization of healthy life style”, Poti WSC conducted sport activity with the slogan “Healthy life style – against violence”.

The first day was devoted to competitions with participation of persons with disabilities in checkers, backgammon and chess.

On June 11 there were held competitions in volley ball and fight.

Activities were held with support of the City Hall for the youth and sport. There were invited young people – local and IDPs, representatives of City Hall of Poti.

All participants were given uniforms and the winners – diplomas.

Informational meetings in the villages of Khoni Municipaility

  

In frames of the project of Khoni WSC “Informed women change the future” there were held 3 meetings in the villages of Khoni municipality – Matkhoji, Nakhakhulevi and Kukhi.

During the meetings the women presented information about a law against domestic violence, arresting and protective orders. Attention was paid to violations of women’s rights. Meeting participants learned about free legal and psychological consultations.

The meeting was followed by active discussion regarding frequent facts of violence against women.
